The 6th Annual Sevenoaks Rotary Knole Park 10k Run on 11th March 2012 in aid of Cancer Research UK and Rotary Supported Charities is promising to be yet another success.
With nearly 700 entries in 2011 from the South East, the Home Counties and London. The Run is growing in reputation and this year we hope total entries will reach at least 800.
Runners who wish to support their own charities via friends` sponsorship are welcome to do so.
Knocker & Foskett and Ibbett Moseley are again the main sponsors. The grounds of Knole Park are used by kind permission of Lord Sackville and the National Trust.
After last 2 year`s success, the 10k Run will again use computer based Chip timing to record runners times and calculate their positions.
This year the Fun Run will again take place along a new track. Last year we had over 60 entries. This time we hope to exceed the previous record number. Families can be assured of a warm welcome. Minimum age 9 years on the day.
A number of strong teams from local and more distant Athletic Clubs will be competing for the Team Prizes.
There will be special medals for all runners who finish and prizes for the first 3 Men and Ladies Individuals and Teams, plus the first 3 in the 2k Fun Run. The generous prizes are being donated by Sevenoaks Sight & Sound, Boots and Dole bananas.
Spectators are encouraged to come along to watch and support from the many viewing points.
The Organisers are hoping for good weather again, following the excellent Spring day we enjoyed last year.
