Have dinner with a World Cup winning hero.
Football fans have the chance to team up with one of England’s famous 1966 World Cup winning heroes at a special dinner in Sevenoaks on Tuesday, 10 March.
George Cohen MBE, described by manager Alf Ramsay as the greatest right back ever to play for England, is guest of honour at the event which will be raising funds to support disabled football in the Sevenoaks area. The former Fulham player appeared for England 37 times and was an integral part of the famous 1966 World Cup team that lifted the Jules Rimet trophy after beating West Germany 4-2 in the final at Wembley.
The evening is being hosted by Sevenoaks Town Junior FC and Access Sport International at the Slug & Lettuce in Sevenoaks and will include a sports quiz and auction of sporting memorabilia. There will also be a Q&A session when guests can ask George about the 1966 World Cup experience and his opinions on the modern game.
Tickets for the dinner cost £15 and are available from the Slug and Lettuce (01732 465058) and Access Sport International (01732 779811). |
