Dan Clews and The Stars Above
Sennockian Dan Clews is flying in tonight from Stockholm with his 5 piece Swedish Band and is playing a 40 minute set of his own compositions tomorrow night 26 April, in front of the A&R Director of EMI at the Slaughtered Lamb in Farringdon, a lively pub with food & good beer. Dan would love it if you could lend your support on this BIG occasion for him and his very talented Swedes. Plant Sale – Kent Dahlia Society is having a Plant Sale at Otford Village Memorial Hall on Saturday 5th May from 9.30a.m. to 12 noon. Amongst the plants for sale will be Dahlias, bedding plants, vegetables, herbs and perennials. Refreshments will be available, including homemade cake. Admission to the sale is free. Local polar explorer Glenn Morris is giving an illustrated talk on May 11th at 7.00p.m. in the Aisher Hall, Sevenoaks School, on his travels in the Arctic and how global warming is affecting the region and its people. The evening also includes a presentation by Tonbridge Grammar School on the unique school twinning programme with the artic involving Kent schools. Tickets, costing £5 and including refreshments donated by Waitrose, from The Studio, High Street, Sevenoaks Bookshop, the Chronicle offices or by telephoning Louise Rose-Morris 01959 525188.

Rockdale are holding a sponsored walk on Thursday April 12th in Knole Park suitable for families and people of all ages to boost the Rockdale Appeal fund. This 3 miles walk, starting and finishing at the Sevenoaks Preparatory school, Godden Green, will provide spectacular views of Knole, the Darenth Valley and North Downs will be opened at 10a.m. by Councillor Margaret Crabtree, Mayor of Sevenoaks, and Paul Holmes of Tarmac Southern, sponsors of the Rockdale Appeal. |
